About Living in Uluwatu
Uluwatu sits on the southern tip of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, where limestone cliffs, dry-season breezes, and long ocean views define daily life. For villa renters, the area offers a very different rhythm from Canggu or Seminyak: quieter roads, more space, and a stronger connection to the sea. The neighborhood stretches around key spots like Jalan Labuansait, the road toward Padang Padang, and the wider area surrounding Pecatu, making it easy to access both surf and sunset venues. Life here often revolves around the coastline. You can start the day near Bingin Beach or Dreamland, grab coffee at one of the many hilltop cafes, and end up at Uluwatu Temple for sunset or at a cliffside venue overlooking the Indian Ocean. Popular names like Single Fin, Savaya, and El Kabron have helped shape Uluwatu’s reputation as a stylish but still laid-back place to live. It’s especially appealing if you want a villa with a pool, outdoor living space, and room to breathe. Compared with more urban parts of Bali, Uluwatu feels more spread out, so having a scooter or car is important. But that trade-off is part of the appeal: fewer crowds, more privacy, and easy access to some of Bali’s most iconic beaches, including Suluban, Padang Padang, and Balangan. For long-term villa living, Uluwatu is ideal if you value ocean air, surf culture, and a home base that feels relaxed rather than busy.
